Meet Ebba Palmgren, the new trainee at Stena Oil
Ebba will engage in trading and operations while exploring the success factors of the Stena Metall Group through its trainee program, Care for Potential.
Who are you, Ebba?
My name is Ebba Palmgren, and I am originally from Alingsås. I’m now based in Gothenburg. I recently graduated from Linnaeus University in Kalmar with a degree in International Business. My program was in English and filled with students from all over the world, and I spent a semester on exchange in Bath, England.
What is your background?
My background in International Business has given me insights into how international trade, cross-cultural communication, and business strategies shape global markets. This experience has hopefully equipped me with insights that can contribute to Stena Oil's global operations and strategic goals.
Why Stena Oil? How did you find the trainee program?
I came across Stena’s trainee program on LinkedIn and applied right away. I had been following the group for some time but didn’t know they offered a program like this. I’m thrilled to have been matched with Stena Oil, as it perfectly aligns with both my education and interests, especially considering the global challenges and opportunities in the oil industry.
What do you do when you're not working?
In my free time, I play golf. It’s a great way for me to relax and unwind, as it allows me to set aside any sense of prestige and simply enjoy the game. I also cherish spending time with family and friends.
What are you most looking forward to learning?
I’m looking forward to learning how Stena Metall collaborates as a group and gaining a better understanding of the oil market. I’m also eager to see how we adapt to new market trends and regulations, such as the EU regulation starting on January 1, 2025.
What do you think you can contribute to Stena Oil?
I hope my curiosity and fresh perspective can add value to Stena Oil. I’m amazed by my team and the work they do every day, so I’m excited to learn from my colleagues and help contribute new ideas and improve processes. When we face challenges, I want to focus on finding solutions instead of getting stuck on the problems. I hope to bring that proactive approach to the team and work together to tackle any obstacles we face.
What is your dream role?
I would love to stay with Stena Oil and work in trading and operations. The fast pace and constant changes in the market are incredibly exciting, and I’m very enthusiastic about being a part of this innovative team and company.
